Product Designer (UI/UX)
- Type: Full-time (part-time considered)
- Experience Level: Mid to Senior
- Compensation: Negotiable, includes benefits (may include equity)
Hi there —
We're Lab24, and we're building AI-native tools that rethink how humans work with context. Our first product is a project management agent that understands your work and helps you move faster—without the busywork.
We're looking for a UI/UX Designer-Engineer hybrid who blends strong product thinking with design precision and a working knowledge of frontend implementation. This role is about shaping the way users experience intelligence—through layout, flow, typography, and motion—and making sure it all feels fast and right.
What we're looking for
You care deeply about craft, clarity, and coherence. You see interface work as architecture—not decoration—and you're able to break down fuzzy problems into elegant flows. You're comfortable owning the design process, but you also know what it takes to get a component working in code.
You'll be working closely with founders and engineers to shape the product from early design through to launch.
What you'll work on
- Designing and prototyping user flows and interfaces in Figma
- Building and maintaining a robust design system that scales with the product
- Working on interaction design, micro-animations, and polished handoffs
- Collaborating with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect execution
- Rethinking and simplifying UX patterns around complex AI-powered workflows
- Collaborating on naming, documentation, and guidelines for smooth handoff
You should be comfortable with
- Creating responsive, accessible, production-ready designs in Figma
- Managing component libraries, tokens, and documentation
- Thinking through both UX logic and visual polish
- Understanding how frontend technologies like Tailwind CSS, React, or CSS variables use design tokens and component structure
- Applying HCI principles and thoughtful interaction design
- Working iteratively and collaborating closely with technical teams
Bonus points for
- Deep knowledge of design systems, not just components
- Experience designing for AI tools, workflows, or agent-based interfaces
- Comfort with basic React or JavaScript
- Experience with user research, testing, and interviews
What we don't care about
We don't care about degrees, formal titles, or how many Dribbble likes you have. We care about your work, how you think, and whether you're excited to help shape something new with care and creativity.
How to apply
Please include:
- Your portfolio — this is a must, even if it's a bit outdated. We're most interested in how you think
- Your résumé or a short write-up of your background
If you're passionate about creating thoughtful, scalable UI/UX that bridges design and engineering—we'd love to hear from you.
